Get a Massage – Give a Massage

Help Us Help Others Heal

Take time to relax and reflect on all the blessings in your life!  Wrap yourself in the warmth of our heated memory foam tables and crisp clean linens while your muscles are massaged and kneaded under the skilled hands of our natural healers.  Or, enjoy a soothing, rejuvenating facial using pure, organic products designed to nourish and transform your skin.

Each Hour of Gratitude Session you purchase will help us donate one massage or facial to local non- profit organizations that works to help those battling breast cancer.

For 16 years we have supported the those in the community who have been victimized by poverty, oppression, abuse and shame by way of domestic violence, sexual exploitation and assault.

When our founder and owner was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, we made the decision to spend the next year giving back to a community that has recently enveloped our lives and thrust us into a world desperate for some simple pleasures of life – such as safe touch and an hour of peace.

The Hour of Gratitude is a one-hour Swedish Massage or a Nature’s Facial for the purchaser or recipient AND it will gift another one-hour Swedish Massage or Nature’s Facial to a local non-profit working with breast cancer patients and survivors. (To read our owner, Corie’s story, scroll below.)

Thank you for your gift, may you be rewarded ten-fold.

Please note – due to the unique nature of this session, it does not extend to our specialty massages or facials.

Corie’s Story

All my life I have been healthy by our society’s standards.  I have never had to take medication; I have never had surgery other than those related to pregnancies. I eat well, partake in moderate exercise and I live a healthy life with a focus on clean eating and proper rest.

So how did it happen that I got breast cancer? No one in my family has had cancer. I do not carry the marker for it.

I suppose the reason is moot at this point, but still, I persist in the curiosity.

It is my deepest belief that stress made me vulnerable to cancer. Stress that comes from childhood wounds ~that exposed me to adolescent challenges ~that predisposed me to relationship imbalances~ that ultimately left me unable to properly regulate my nervous system.  A vicious and debilitating cycle emerged from such early years of dysfunction.

This field, health and wellness and this career of a dual licensed massage and skin care therapist was a means to an end. I sought out healing by finding ways to help others heal.

And I was good at it. I was so tuned in to the subtle nuances of another person’s energy. I could feel holding patterns within the skin. Warm or cold patches that had a slightly different frequency or vibration than the rest of the body.  I poured every once of me into what I was doing. I was fully regulated and supportively regulating those on my table.

But I was still holding onto my own pain. I was still carrying the weight of years of trauma, abuse and self-neglect

In walks cancer.

So here I am getting to know myself while cancer keeps me locked away in a self-imposed protective quarantine. Here I am cocooned, experiencing a new level of internal healing and intuitive awareness.

Ten years ago, Nature’s Spa chose to seek ways to help local non-profit organizations who specialize in domestic violence and human trafficking. One more way I was seeking to heal old wounds.

This year from October 2021 to October 2022 we will be shifting our attention to those battling breast cancer.  I have seen firsthand what that diagnosis does to the human psyche, how it ravishes the human body and how it implodes the human spirit.

This goal will be achieved through our Hour of Gratitude as well as our Pinky Promise Gift Certificates.

Please consider supporting us in supporting others by purchasing an Hour of Gratitude which offers you a massage or facial and then donates a massage or facial to someone who is impacted by breast cancer.

I pinky promise here today to love myself in every way

To check for lumps, sores, rashes or swelling

Any odd changes could also be telling

I pinky promise to take a break and rest

Of all those I love; I shall love myself best

I pinky promise here today to love myself in every way
