Hot Stone Massage
An ancient healing art using hot stones that provide penetrating heat to tense or locked muscles, diving deep into aching joints. Warm oils calm the body as the gliding sensation from the warmth of the stones melts away muscle tension, reduces stress, and promotes healing; thus relaxing the body at its deepest level. Stone massage is a very effective way to create harmony and promote a sense of balance within the soft tissue. With a hint of healing oils, this treatment sooths the senses and eases the mind.
Most popular massage during the cold or rainy seasons and for those suffering from arthritis or joint discomfort.
Herbal Thai Ball Massage
Herbal Thai Massage Balls were developed in Asia over 5000 years ago, and they offer a number of benefits when used in conjunction with massage. Just like a hot stone massage, the therapist will synchronize the application of the steamed herbal Thai balls with the firm effleurage strokes of the treatment to release the powerful herbs into the skin as their intoxicating aroma fills the room.
This treatment helps to increase the circulation of blood and lymph throughout the body. The herbs that are found in these balls include ginger and tamarind which are renowned for their healing effect. Many other herbs can be included in a traditional massage ball, but all the plants that are selected are known for their healing properties. They help to open the body’s energy flow, and release Prana, or life energy. Cellular re-growth is another benefit that a Thai ball session provides, and the herbs are specially designed to combat the free radicals that are associated with skin cancer. Natural herbs work to help promote cellular re-generation and are essential in promoting the circulation of the body’s natural energy flow. These channels can promote the body’s own healing properties, and a massage is a great way to work the beneficial herbs into the skin. They can then work their magic and relaxation will pervade as the body begins to heal. **Take home the herb packs for future use.
Sports Massage
Nature’s Spa’s sports massage is a targeted, therapeutic treatment designed for the unique physical and biomechanical needs of athletes. Each session specifically targets muscle release and flexibility with a focus on reducing pain and increasing range of motion.
Athletes put great effort into training, but very few put effort into taking good care of the body that helps them perform. Most professionals recommend incorporating regular massage sessions into your routine to prevent injuries and the overtraining of muscles. Scheduling mid-training appointments can also reveal places that are tight and places that should be addressed in post-workout stretching. Those that train hard should view massage as an investment and not a luxury.
An ideal treatment occurs seven to two days prior to an event and eliminates any bodywork less than 48 hours prior for optimal performance. Post-event treatment can occur just hours after an event to calm the nervous system, allowing the body to commence its natural repair state quicker or several days after for a more therapeutic treatment.
The Warrior Massage
When it comes to your own health and well-being you should fight like mad!
The lymphatic system is a vital component to our overall health as it processes and discards toxins and free radicals that cause disease and rapid aging. Massage is a huge player in the fight against illness and fatigue by reducing stress, stimulating the production of mood enhancing hormones, increasing blood circulation and releasing tensed up muscles. By adding our ever-popular dry brushing treatment along with lymphatic massage points and aromatherapy we have created a powerhouse massage designed for immunity boosting and repair; perfect during cold, flu and allergy season or when you crave a jump start!
Prenatal Massage
**TWO HOUR UNAVAILABLE
During pregnancy, this is one of the greatest gifts for the mother to be. (Not in the 1st trimester) Gentle and nurturing, this massage focuses on the needs of the mother. Most often performed lying on your side to encourage and support healthy circulation for you and the baby, this massage works to relieve pressure from the low back, upper shoulders, legs and feet. This massage also helps to promote a deeper connection between you and baby by creating a space for greater body awareness and reflection. Abdominal massage is included for relief of discomfort and softening of the stretching skin (upon request).
This experience doesn’t happen all the time so embrace it fully!! Treat yourself or loved one to a consistent self- care routine of two massages per month during the second and third trimester or at least one massage per month to help manage the beautiful changes in your body.
Power Massages
60 minutes/$165 – 90 minute/$245
Our power massages are those that we ration out among the staff. They require a tender balance of strength and stamina mixed with passion and a deep understanding of human anatomy. Additional years of study and training as well as personal conditioning are the bedrock of success when it comes to these specific massages. Each therapist can only perform a specified number of these sessions per week and therefore book up quite quickly. *Two-hour sessions are unavailable for these select services unless suggested by your therapist.
Headache Relief Massage
Focusing on the stress points in the face, scalp, neck and shoulders to reduce and eliminate the discomfort from sinus pressure and/or stress headaches.
NMT (Neuromuscular Therapy)
This is a therapeutic treatment designed to help restore balance within the body, often referred to as a medical massage. An imbalance over a period of time can create chronic pain and dysfunction and can eventually lead to many conditions such as…carpal tunnel syndrome, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff injury, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, TMJ disorder, chronic neck and back pain, or even functional scoliosis. This massage is very beneficial in conjunction with physical therapy, pre- or post-surgery or after the acute onset of an injury or “pulled muscle.” The massage will be a therapeutic style session with segmented routines and is not intended for deep relaxation, but rather pain relief and restructuring.
*This is a specialized service and requires years of training and certification.
